We Prepare You

MNU history majors benefit from small class sizes and innovative teaching. In your history classes, you won’t be just sitting quietly listening to lectures. Through the use of games, simulations, discussions, debates, projects, and technology, students learn and experience history in a variety of ways. Students learn how to effectively analyze historical sources and communicate their analysis to a critical audience. As a senior, the capstone experience allows you to develop and complete a year-long research project on the topic of your choice.

Graduates leave MNU’s history program with not only knowledge of the past, but also the ability to use that knowledge as a part of God’s plan for their life.

Program Overview

  • You will take courses in United States and world history as well as a variety of specialized courses that survey time periods, places and specific events.
  • You will learn how to analyze historical documents, understand scholarly interpretations of history, and conduct your own research.
  • You will also have the opportunity to develop and sharpen a Christian worldview as a context for exploring the past.
  • You can take advantage of study abroad opportunities and a semester-long program in Washington D.C.
